Assisted loans (PTZ and PAS) enabled 70% of first-time buyers to buy new homes in 2016, according to a recent study published by Fontier. Favorable licensing conditions favored the granting of assisted loans.

According to Fontier figures, 559,000 households bought for the first time last year. The establishment, which specializes precisely in first-time buyers, notes – unsurprisingly – a predominance of purchases in the former (417 000, against 142 000 in the former).

In concrete terms, the PTZ in 2016 helped finance 114,940 operations in the new. It weighs 7.4 billion euros. Geographically, buyers in zones B2 and C benefited the most.
The success of the PTZ last year can be explained by the more flexible granting conditions: opening of the loan towards the old real estate and raising of the income ceilings.

To return to the Fontier study, it also points to the impact of the SAP. And this loan is not left behind, with no less than 9.2 billion euros granted last year for 72,994 transactions. The sums granted are larger than for a PTZ, with an average amount of 178,130 euros.
As with the PTZ, operations are concentrated in less dense areas. ” Nearly 6 out of 10 SAP-financed operations are carried out in zones B2 and C, where property prices are the lowest,” says Fontier.
